Venezuela's state-run telecoms operator Cantv has deployed over 2,903 Wi-Fi sites under its nationwide WiFi project dubbed 'Wi-Fi para todos' (Wi-Fi for all). The project, which stipulates the deployment of 5,774 Wi-Fi sites across the country for the provision of free internet access, was initially launched in November 2013. The sities were installed in public areas as well as in universities and public schools. The initiative will require a total investment of VEF 86 million.
