a) saying no to smart meters; and
b) participating in the huge awareness shift, which this collective action will bring.
With “smart” meters, utilities first collect reams of private data about you and your family. Then they compile, analyze, sell and share this information with whomever they wish, including governments.
Did you believe your utility when they told you that all of your private, in-home data – obtained by your “smart” meter – would be kept safe and private?
Did you believe them when they said that a comprehensive file of information collected about you and your family would not be shared or sold?
The truth is finally emerging, that “smart” meters are designed to collect reams of detailed private information on you and your family. “The privacy rules in today’s decision establish a solid framework for… fostering a new market for third-party participants… I see many possibilities of how the availability of Smart Grid data can help make the energy industry more service oriented.”
