More than a quarter of British fathers rely on tablets to play with their children – more than double the proportion of mothers, according to a survey.
The research found 27 per cent of fathers rely on a tablet to play with their sons and daughters, while just 12 per cent of mothers use a tablet for the majority of playing time.
Just 16 per cent of fathers said they do not use a tablet at all to play with their children, in comparison to 29 per cent of mothers, the survey by OnePoll discovered.
An overwhelming majority of parents believe tablets have a positive influence on children, while just six per cent of mothers and four per cent of fathers think they have a negative effect.
The poll, which also showed more than half of two to six-year-olds play and learn using tablets, was commissioned by Justin’s World, who make children’s apps.
