Prof' Sadezky, after explaining that brain tumors take many years to develop and the massive use started only in the middle of the '90 and that we need to remember that there is here a technology that precedes the biology:
"Just in order to give an example from a completely another risk factor, that I don't compare to the cell phones- the atomic bomb which fell on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, and only 50 years later, in 1994, they showed in studies of the atomic bomb
an excess of brain tumors."
"The studies until today, in fact what they say is that for the people who talk more than 10 years of use, who talk a lot, and especially who used to hold the phone at the same side of the head in which the tumor developed, we see an increased risk to develop brain tumors."
Reporter: does it mean that a whole generation will develop cancer?
Sadezky: "It does not mean that a whole generation will develop cancer. It is necessary to understand that we are talking
about rare tumors, and so even if we increase the risk of developing them, it is clear that not a whole generation will develop cancer."
On children: "Children are very sensitive to develop cancer...their tissues divide fast and when the tissues divide fast,
they are usually more sensitive to carcinogens."
Regarding antennas: "It is not possible to use this technology without distribution of antennas, and in order that the exposure from antennas will be as low as possible, the right distribution is a distribution of very high number of small antennas. The radiation that the person receives, or absorbs, as a result of the use of cell phone, is much higher than the radiation from antenna, and the reason is very simple, the distance. None of us sits and hugs an antenna, once we are 6 meters from the antenna, or something like that, we are already OK".
"All that we need to do in order to protect ourselves is to take the source of radiation far from the body: not to speak with the phone close to the ear, it means to use speakers, headsets, or the microphone of the phone and to hold the phone far from the body. Many people sleep and load the phone when the loading device is very close to the head, we recommend not to do that, to take the loading device far from the head."
"The WHO classified RF in May this year, as possibly carcinogenic. It is not clear to us yet, whether the phones are carcinogenic or not, but the studies today certainly show signals that they may be".
