AUGUSTA (WGME) -- The Legislature’s Education and Cultural Affairs committee will hear comment Monday afternoon on a bill to restrict the use of cell phones by students while in school.
The bill, sponsored by Representative Heidi Sampson, of Alfred, would prohibit the use of cell phones by students in public schools.
Students with an emergency would be able to use their phone in the main office of the school.
A public hearing scheduled for 1 p.m. in Room 208 of the Cross Office Building in Augusta.
