Wi-Fi warning presented
Wireless technology is doing permanent damage to our children and to us, and school staff need to educate themselves before purchasing more of the equipment.
This was the stark message delivered by two people making presentations at the last board of education meeting, Jeanette Pongratz-Doyle and Christel Martin.
“You’re putting your kids in a microwave oven and you’re putting yourselves in a microwave oven,” said Martin, as she demonstrated what she said happens to a healthy cell once exposed to electromagnetic radiation with a prop.
She said reports have shown the technology unzips DNA making it irreparable, it also nukes girls’ ovaries and interferes with calcium metabolism.
Pongratz-Doyle said every parent has a right to know what Wi-Fi is doing to their children including chronic fatigue, increasing allergies, loss of fertility, cancer and possibly autism.
Secretary Treasurer Erica Bailey then presented some research she gathered by contacting a number of school boards around the province and surveying them on their use of Wi-Fi technology.
Of the surveys she got back all said they had Wi-Fi at schools. Nine had undergone some sort of review on the issue. All of the schools concluded the amount of Wi-Fi they used was relatively safe, she said. One had put a pause on further installation of the technology at the elementary level due to concern from parent groups. She said Health Canada has concluded that low level exposure to Wi-Fi is not dangerous to the public.
A page called Wireless Technology and Safety Standard in Schools is on the district 69 website, www.sd69.bc.ca, including links supplied by Pongratz-Doyle and Martin, as well as from Bailey’s research.
