After multiple house fires in Saskatchewan caused directly by "smart" meters, SaskPower is recalling and removing all 105,000 meters which have been installed throughout the province:

We applaud Bill Boyd, Minister Responsible for Energy and Resources, for his abilities to use logic and foresight in ordering the removal.  Other public servants and utilities (and the individual executives) who have kept streamrolling the agenda despite being made aware of the facts will later regret those decisions, as they will be held fully liable.

Longevity Rescuer Alison Heath tackles the distressing amount of false information given to us regarding EMF Radiation in her latest video. Her term for this is “junk science” – inaccurate studies and half-truths given to the consumers by the industry. This is to make people feel better installing wireless internet and buying WiFi-ready phones for their children.
“Your cell phone and wireless are perfectly safe” Ms Heath says, opening the video. “That's what the industry would like you to believe. But it just isn't so. Don't be fooled” she adds. Dirty electricity and electrosmog have recently become a serious health hazard – for those who are aware. Information regarding these issues have been hidden, no longer available for public consumption, and Ms Heath feels that this just isn't right.
Scientists like Dr. Henry Lai and Dr. Samuel Milham have dedicated their work to researching and studying the effects of EMF radiation on the human body. Dr. Milham first alerted the world to the dangers of dirty electricity, while Dr. Lai has proven that low EMF radiation can cause neurological damage to DNA. Ms Heath expresses distress over the fact that these people have been blacklisted and discredited just for stepping up and speaking out.
Those who are extremely susceptible to the effects of EMF radiation have what is called Electromagnetic Hyper Sensitivity. This condition is extremely fatal in children, the elderly, and the infirm. The irony of it all, Ms Heath says, is that schools have wireless internet and hospitals are full of extreme magnetic fields.
Alison Heath recounts a story told to her by Sharon Noble, director of Citizens for Safe Technologies and founder of Stop Smart Meters BC. A school in Simcoe county installed wireless internet on their campus. Shortly after that, the children had heart attacks. She believes some were reported to be fatal.
Smart Meters are another major source of EMF radiation, and yet some people do not have the option to say no to Smart Meters being installed near their homes. There is currently a Human Rights Class Action Law Suit against that. Human Rights demand that the people be given protection; even electromagnetic hypersensitivity protection. “In this case,” Ms Heath states, “we are definitely not protected.”
In the end, the best electromagnetic hypersensitivity treatment is really to opt out of wireless. Ms Heath encourages people to return to ethernet cables, stop giving children cell phones, and refrain from using smart meters. She reiterates the Precautionary Principle; simply take precautions. “Protect yourself. Do what you can to be safe.”

Tele-density in rural areas is 44 per cent at the moment.Despite the booming number of mobile phones in the country, availability of phones in rural areas remains far below that of cities. The teledensity in rural areas is about 44 per cent compared to over 145 per cent in cities and towns. One of the problems telecom companies face in faster rollout of services in rural areas is high capital expenditure required to set up a large number of towers and other infrastructure to serve a relatively smaller number of subscribers dispersed over large geographical areas.

Reaching out to uncovered villages is possible through satellite telephony but that's hardly an affordable solution.

Innovative solution lies somewhere between ground- based towers and a satellite in the sky - a telecom transmitter mounted on a low flying balloon. Just imagine the power of such a technology.

A base transceiver station (BTS) on a ground- based tower typically can support wireless services in an area of about 100 to 125 square kilometres. If you mount the same BTS on a balloon and float it at an altitude of one kilometre or above, the coverage area extends to about 10,000 square kilometres.

That means one BTS on a balloon can do the job of about 100 towers. T HE savings in terms of power supplies, base station equipment and other infrastructure could be enormous, while preventing possible radiation hazard comes as a bonus.

A balloon- mounted mobile transceiver station is no more a pipe dream. It was demonstrated recently at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) by a consortium of Indian and Japanese academic and research institutions. The idea was to illustrate the use of balloon technology to provide emergency communication services in events of disasters. The balloon- based communication system can be rapidly deployed in disaster- affected areas when conventional ground- based links fail or are difficult to mount. The system can support GSM, WiFi and 4G LTE platforms. The same technology can be used for providing regular services as well.

One innovative solution is to have a telecom transmitter on a low-flying balloon to boost connectivityIt is interesting that IITM is actually about five years late in the game. The ' proof of concept' of balloon- mounted mobile telephony was first demonstrated way back in 2008 jointly by the National Balloon Facility of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and Tata Teleservices Limited.

Leader researchers of the project - Prof R K Manchanda of TIFR and Dr Rakesh Mehrota of Tata Teleservices-designed and tested a balloon lifted to a height of 500 meters. Mobile coverage was tested within a radius of 60 km. The experiment was successful and results were shared with the scientific community at international conferences.

Unfortunately, for reasons best known to the two organisations, the innovation never got to see light of the way.

Had the Tatas backed this innovation, India could have once again taken leadership position in rural mobile telephony globally and repeated what the Centre for Development of Telematics (CDOT) did with fixed telephony 25 years ago with its rural digital exchange. Hopefully, the IITM project will not meet the same fate.

Contrary to the claim below that the British energy industry has “learned from mistakes in the USA and Australia” just the opposite is true. What about the many reports on health effects coming from Australia and the U.S. Absolutely nothing is mentioned below. Its all about “lifestyle changes” with part of the spin using cartoon characters Gaz and Leccy spreading the supposed benefits of smart meters. Perhaps appropriately like to the cartoon character Joe Camel featured in those old cigarette commercials.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the money was instead spent on investigating those health effects? A bit like believing in the Easter Bunny…..

UK Energy industry unveils £85m plan to tout smart meter benefits
Having learned from mistakes in the USA and Australia, the British energy industry has joined forces for a nationwide campaign that seeks to rally support for smart meters by touting the devices as a platform for future lifestyle changes in households. Cartoon versions of gas and electricity (Gaz and Leccy) will star in ads nationwide later this month.

Smart Energy GB, an organisation set up by the Government and funded by energy companies, has just launched the first phase of the £85 seven-year marketing plan. It was first revealed in March and the campaign will play a key role in the Government’s £11bn plan to install the devices in every home by 2020.

Researchers Use Smartphone App to Track Gut Bacteria and their Impact


Interesting results about the composition of gut bacteria and its close relationship with health has been resulted in the development of a new smartphone app which has supposedly eased up things for scientists.
The researchers collected information about the study subject’s gut bacteria by using the app.

Diet, exercise, bowel movements and mood are the daily activity logged by them and submit regular stool and saliva samples. The researchers analysed the samples in detail to determine what had the greatest effect on the composition of gut bacteria.

The participants had a ‘default’ gut bacteria which remained unaffected by sleep levels, exercise and mood.

The researchers also found two life events that had a significant effect on the gut bacteria – one subject moved abroad while the other had a significant bout of food poisoning which caused most pre-existing gut bacterial species to decline. What’s more, this relationship between diet and specific bacterial groups showed themselves in a single day.

“Life events such as visiting another country or contracting a disease cause a significant shift in the make-up of the gut bacteria – the community of gut bacteria living in the digestive system,” the researchers explained.
“This has given us a lot of new ideas for follow up studies and analyses of gut microbial ecology as well as infectious diseases in humans,” professor Lawrence David from Duke University, explained. “I was surprised by our results in several ways. First, I wasn’t sure we would find correlations between fiber intake and gut bacterial dynamics on such short time scales.”
