Microwave - and other forms of electromagnetic - radiation are major (but conveniently disregarded, ignored, and overlooked) factors in many modern unexplained disease states. Insomnia, anxiety, vision problems, swollen lymph, headaches, extreme thirst, night sweats, fatigue, memory and concentration problems, muscle pain, weakened immunity, allergies, heart problems, and intestinal disturbances are all symptoms found in a disease process the Russians described in the 70's as Microwave Sickness.
Germany Rejects EU Smart-Meter Recommendations on Cost Concerns
By Stefan NicolaAugust 01, 2013
Germany said it probably won’t follow smart-meter guidance from the European Union -- which has recommended that 80 percent of homes install the devices by 2020 -- because such a move would be too costly for consumers.
The EU proposal is “inadvisable” for Germany, the Economy Ministry said in a statement, citing a study it commissioned from consultants Ernst & Young. For users with low power consumption, the installation cost would be greater than the achievable energy savings, it said.
“The results show that we in Germany have to expand smart measuring systems and meters selectively and in line with the energy switch,” Deputy Economy Minister Stefan Kapferer said, referring to the country’s shift away from nuclear generation and toward renewable power.
Smart meters allow consumers to monitor energy use and costs, and relay the data to suppliers to help them manage demand. Germany, which seeks to more than triple the share of renewables to 80 percent of consumption by 2050, has yet to adopt a firm policy on the devices.
The study on Germany, which has about 48 million traditional meters, “disappointed some in the industry, who had hoped for a stronger recommendation for a mass-market rollout,” Albert Cheung, an analyst at Bloomberg New Energy Finance, said today by e-mail. “This is still a positive development as it clarifies the roles and responsibilities for smart metering, where uncertainty had previously stymied development.”

Historically, studies have equated forgetfulness with old age. Indeed, when someone misplaces something like their car keys, people generally refer to it as a "senior moment." But a new survey tells a different story.
A Trending Machine national poll finds that millennials aged 18 to 34 are, in fact, much more likely than those 55 or older to forget what day it is (15 percent vs. seven percent), where they put their keys (14 percent vs. eight percent), forget to bring their lunch (nine percent vs. three percent) or even to take a bath or shower (six percent vs. two percent).
Generally speaking, two-fifths -- or 39 percent -- of Americans have forgotten or misplaced at least one everyday item in the past week. The only thing those 55 and older are significantly more likely to forget? Names (23 percent vs. 16 percent).
So what's behind the phenomenon?
Patricia Gutentag, a family and occupational therapist, pointed the finger at stress in a statement released by The Trending Machine.
"Stress often leads to forgetfulness, depression and poor judgment," she said. “We find higher rates of ADHD diagnoses in young adults. This is a population that has grown up multitasking using technology, often compounded by lack of sleep, all of which results in high levels of forgetfulness.”
When it comes to gender, The Trending Machine found that women are more likely to forget or misplace everyday items compared with men, (43 percent vs. 31 percent). The reason? The stress of work-life balance issues coupled with increased financial responsibilities have taken a toll.
In addition, regional stress differences can be inferred from the higher level of forgetfulness found in the Northeast compared to those reported in the more relaxed West (51 percent vs. 39 percent).
Despite these findings, memory loss remains a common complaint among the elderly. And ageist stereotypes don't seem to help. One recent study found that simply tellingolder people they are forgetful makes their memory worse.
What do you think? Are millennials more forgetful than seniors? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Take Back Your Power will play at King Buffet, 3650 Kietzke Lane, on Aug. 6 at 6 p.m.
Take Back Your Power (TBYP) is an independently produced documentary about issues surrounding smart meters that are being installed by major utility companies globally, including NV Energy.
“The film uncovers alarming issues about health, privacy, property rights, corporate fraud, and vulnerability issues inherent in the ’smart’ grid,” reads the film’s website.
Smart meters track energy usage and report it back to NV Energy for billing purposes. Installation began in Nevada in 2010 by NV Energy through a program called NVEnergize. NV Energy received a federal grant of $139 million, which will pay for nearly half of the $303 million program, according to NV Energy Public Relations Manager Jennifer Schuricht.
“The grant money has strings attached,” said activist Joannah Schumacher said. “They have to have a certain percentage of people who have the smart meter installed on their home in order to get their mitts on this $139 million.”
Local citizen activists Schumacher, Carole Fineberg and Juanita Cox have been fighting forced smart meters in homes since the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) began having hearings about them and have helped to get the film to Reno. They spoke about how it seems odd that the smart meters are non-optional and that you have to opt-out of the program instead of opting-in. “If a smart meter is so great, why aren’t people going, ’Oh please, put a smart meter on my home’?” Schumacher said. “If it was so healthful, if it would really help you save energy, I think anyone would want them.” But NV Energy sees the smart meters as revolutionary. Schuricht stated that the reason the meters were installed was because this new technology is “transforming [the] industry, allowing [NV Energy] to better engage our customers and operate more efficiently” and that NV Energy was the first investor-owned utility to receive a grant for their smart meter program. The trial opt-out program was initiated in late 2012 in the face of strong opposition to these meters, but it lasts only four years, ending Dec. 31, 2016, when the program will be evaluated by the PUC from data collected from NV Energy during the trial period. If residents do not wish to have a smart meter during this time, they will receive a refurbished analog meter in place of their old analog meter (or smart meter). The refurbished meter doesn’t transmit data, so it must be read manually like past analog meters. But they cannot store data. Schuricht stated that the reason all analog meters will be replaced is because the PUC selected the refurbished analog meters as the non-standard metering option. If you choose to opt-out, you will have to pay a one-time charge of $52.44 and a monthly recurring charge of $8.72, according to the PUC’s website. (Southern Nevada’s charges are slightly higher.) The monthly recurring charge is on top of normal charges for usage and your basic service charge on your bill. Cox believes these charges disallow poorer individuals to choose to opt-out of a smart meter. “It’s so frustrating for me, as an activist, when I see that this corporation, for their own financial reasons, is harming the poorer people—I just go out of my mind,” Cox said.
We physicians with all our training, knowledge and authority often acquire a rather large ego that tends to make it difficult to admit we are wrong. So, here it is. I freely admit to being wrong.. As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience, having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries, today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact.
I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labelled “opinion makers.” Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol.
The only accepted therapy was prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and a diet that severely restricted fat intake. The latter of course we insisted would lower cholesterol and heart disease. Deviations from these recommendations were considered heresy and could quite possibly result in malpractice.
It Is Not Working!
These recommendations are no longer scientifically or morally defensible. The discovery a few years ago that inflammation in the artery wall is the real cause of heart disease is slowly leading to a paradigm shift in how heart disease and other chronic ailments will be treated.
The long-established dietary recommendations have created epidemics of obesity and diabetes, the consequences of which dwarf any historical plague in terms of mortality, human suffering and dire economic consequences.
Despite the fact that 25% of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before.
Statistics from the American Heart Association show that 75 million Americans currently suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 57 million have pre-diabetes. These disorders are affecting younger and younger people in greater numbers every year.
Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended. It is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped.
Inflammation is not complicated — it is quite simply your body’s natural defence to a foreign invader such as a bacteria, toxin or virus. The cycle of inflammation is perfect in how it protects your body from these bacterial and viral invaders. However, if we chronically expose the body to injury by toxins or foods the human body was never designed to process,a condition occurs called chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation is just as harmful as acute inflammation is beneficial.
What thoughtful person would willfully expose himself repeatedly to foods or other substances that are known to cause injury to the body? Well, smokers perhaps, but at least they made that choice willfully.
The rest of us have simply followed the recommended mainstream dietthat is low in fat and high in polyunsaturated fats and carbohydrates, not knowing we were causing repeated injury to our blood vessels. Thisrepeated injury creates chronic inflammation leading to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity.
Let me repeat that: The injury and inflammation in our blood vessels is caused by the low fat diet recommended for years by mainstream medicine. What are the biggest culprits of chronic inflammation? Quite simply, they are the overload of simple, highly processed carbohydrates (sugar, flourand all the products made from them) and the excess consumption of omega-6 vegetable oils like soybean, corn and sunflower that are found in many processed foods.
Take a moment to visualize rubbing a stiff brush repeatedly over soft skin until it becomes quite red and nearly bleeding. you kept this up several times a day, every day for five years. If you could tolerate this painful brushing, you would have a bleeding, swollen infected area that became worse with each repeated injury. This is a good way to visualize the inflammatory process that could be going on in your body right now.
Regardless of where the inflammatory process occurs, externally or internally, it is the same. I have peered inside thousands upon thousands of arteries. A diseased artery looks as if someone took a brush and scrubbed repeatedly against its wall. Several times a day, every day, the foods we eat create small injuries compounding into more injuries, causing the body to respond continuously and appropriately with inflammation.
While we savor the tantalizing taste of a sweet roll, our bodies respond alarmingly as if a foreign invader arrived declaring war. Foods loaded with sugars and simple carbohydrates, or processed withomega-6 oils for long shelf life have been the mainstay of the American diet for six decades. These foods have been slowly poisoning everyone.
How does eating a simple sweet roll create a cascade of inflammation to make you sick?
Imagine spilling syrup on your keyboard and you have a visual of what occurs inside the cell. When we consume simple carbohydrates such as sugar, blood sugar rises rapidly. In response, your pancreas secretes insulin whose primary purpose is to drive sugar into each cell where it is stored for energy. If the cell is full and does not need glucose, it is rejected to avoid extra sugar gumming up the works.
When your full cells reject the extra glucose, blood sugar rises producing more insulin and the glucose converts to stored fat.
What does all this have to do with inflammation? Blood sugar is controlled in a very narrow range. Extra sugar molecules attach to a variety of proteins that in turn injure the blood vessel wall. This repeated injury to the blood vessel wall sets off inflammation. When you spike your blood sugar level several times a day, every day, it is exactly like taking sandpaper to the inside of your delicate blood vessels.
While you may not be able to see it, rest assured it is there. I saw it in over 5,000 surgical patients spanning 25 years who all shared one common denominator — inflammation in their arteries.
Let’s get back to the sweet roll. That innocent looking goody not only contains sugars, it is baked in one of many omega-6 oils such as soybean. Chips and fries are soaked in soybean oil; processed foods are manufactured with omega-6 oils for longer shelf life. While omega-6’s are essential -they are part of every cell membrane controlling what goes in and out of the cell – they must be in the correct balance with omega-3’s.
If the balance shifts by consuming excessive omega-6, the cell membrane produces chemicals called cytokines that directly cause inflammation.
Today’s mainstream American diet has produced an extreme imbalance of these two fats. The ratio of imbalance ranges from 15:1 to as high as 30:1 in favor of omega-6. That’s a tremendous amount of cytokines causing inflammation. In today’s food environment, a 3:1 ratio would be optimal and healthy.
To make matters worse, the excess weight you are carrying from eating these foods creates overloaded fat cells that pour out large quantities of pro-inflammatory chemicals that add to the injury caused by having high blood sugar. The process that began with a sweet roll turns into a vicious cycle over time that creates heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetesand finally, Alzheimer’s disease, as the inflammatory process continues unabated. There is no escaping the fact that the more we consume prepared and processed foods, the more we trip the inflammation switch little by little each day. The human body cannot process, nor was it designed to consume, foods packed with sugars and soaked in omega-6 oils.
There is but one answer to quieting inflammation, and that is returning to foods closer to their natural state. To build muscle, eat more protein. Choose carbohydrates that are very complex such as colorful fruits and vegetables. Cut down on or eliminate inflammation- causing omega-6 fats like corn and soybean oil and the processed foods that are made from them.
One tablespoon of corn oil contains 7,280 mg of omega-6; soybean contains 6,940 mg. Instead, use olive oil or butter from grass-fed beef.
Animal fats contain less than 20% omega-6 and are much less likely to cause inflammation than the supposedly healthy oils labelled polyunsaturated. Forget the “science” that has been drummed into your head for decades. The science that saturated fat alone causes heart disease is non-existent. The science that saturated fat raises blood cholesterol is also very weak. Since we now know that cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease, the concern about saturated fat is even more absurd today.
The cholesterol theory led to the no-fat, low-fat recommendations that in turn created the very foods now causing an epidemic of inflammation. Mainstream medicine made a terrible mistake when it advised people to avoid saturated fat in favor of foods high in omega-6 fats. We now have an epidemic of arterial inflammation leading to heart disease and other silent killers.
What you can do is choose whole foods your grandmother served and not those your mom turned to as grocery store aisles filled with manufactured foods. By eliminating inflammatory foods and adding essential nutrients from fresh unprocessed food, you will reverse years of damage in your arteries and throughout your body from consuming the typical American diet.

08-01-2013 10:31 am - John A. Holeton There comes a time in the history of a country when its people look back and acknowledge a turning point that transformed their way of life forever; a crossroad such as the introduction of slavery, The American Revolution to declare our independence, civil war and The Great Depression. We are at such a turning point here in America now today.
Across America smart meters are being forced on consumers and consumers are fighting back with resolutions and moratoriums to stop them because they want a choice and their voices heard.
The installation of AMI meters, smart meters, is a corporate mandate! Not a Federal mandate! One that proposes that consumers reimburse the corporation through rate increases for this business experiment also one that demands we accept smart meters which use radio frequency transmissions which cumulative effect (1) may be harmful; one that allows a private corporation to cross the line and breach the boundary of the outer walls of our homes where the 4th Amendment is sacred - without our consent with communications with smart chipped appliances. The utility corporations call this a Home Area Network. All of this plus no contract to protect consumer’s legal right to redress for liability and harm.
The smart meter does not just measure electricity. It is designed to capture more energy consumption (2) than the old analog meter with the electrical / mechanical dials. It will cost consumers more with the simple transferring of the type of meter being used and for the future cost associated with the Advanced Metering Infrastructure agenda to control all aspects of customer’s energy consumption.
Many of the smart meters use Radio Frequency communications equivalent to cell phones to do this, although the radiation of cell phones has been declared by the World Health Organization as a possible Class 2B carcinogenic as recently as 2011. The Utility Corporations argue the radiation of smart meters is minimal as they only transmit a few times a month and the radiation is within FCC guidelines. The significance of the total radiation transmitted by a smart meter is documented by the HF 35 C High Frequency Analyzer (3) in the video recordings of smart meters in Troy Michigan, the smart meters continuously collected data for 12 consecutive minutes.
The FCC guidelines are for Thermal based radiation, not the long term non-thermal based radiation from many sources accumulating possible dangerous exposures. There are no long term studies on the effects of non-thermal radiation.
For the first time in the Smart Technology Revolution, American consumers are becoming aware of the overabundance of radio frequency in their everyday lives. Americans are being overexposed (4) by numerous appliances and devices already in their homes such as micro-wave ovens, security systems, deck phones, remote thermostats, baby monitors, desk and laptop computers, video games, WIFI play stations, routers and modems - all with radio frequency radiation. This cumulative effect of exposure can be hazardous but can simply be eliminated by consumer choice. Consumers can choose not to purchase them, use them or turn them off until needed as opposed to the mandate of utilities to have smart meters for electricity, water and gas where the consumption is continuously being collected by RF radiation and thus exposing consumers.
We are being forced to allow a new smart meter technology take over our lives. The talk of using energy credits as collateral for sustainable energy is becoming a reality with homes equipped with card readers telling consumers how much energy is available so they can decide which appliances they can afford to use. With the ability to track all monetary transactions by barcodes and credit type cards, it is not unreasonable to expect in the future corporations such as utility corporations will be able to monitor your exact worth at any given time and use the smart meters load limiting ability or disconnect to ration or end your energy consumption.
The consequence of refusing the corporate mandate AMI smart meters is to do without the life support of energy. This is documented in Michigan’s Public Service Commission Case U-17053 where Detroit Edison reiterates in Direct Testimony that accepting the new AMI meters is a condition of service.(5)
The MPSC, whose commissioners are appointed by the governor, has Primary Jurisdiction over the energy corporations whom are given a monopoly on their service provided to consumers. Their Primary Jurisdiction authority allows them to interpret laws and enforce regulations. This authority can take precedent over prosecuting such unlawful acts as those listed in Michigan’s Consumer Protection Act, PA 331 of 1976 445.903 Sec.3. (1) Such as (j) Representing that a part, or repair service is needed when it is not. (Replacing the analog meter with smart meter); and (n) Causing a probability of confusion or of misunderstanding as to the legal rights, obligations, or remedies of a party to a transaction.
Just causing the probability confusion to the legal rights and remedies of a party to a transaction is unlawful under Michigan law yet Michigan’s Attorney General, as representative of the governor and legislature – not the people, yields to the Primary Jurisdiction of the MPSC.
This leaves consumers to either seek civil action through a lawsuit or become a party to the case by intervening in the utility company cases before public service commissions such as the MPSC. The MPSC heard the voices of the people through these legal documents of resolutions and moratoriums and gave us the investigation into smart meters with Case U-17000. More resolutions and moratoriums gave us the Detroit Edison proposal for an Opt-Out program of MPSC Case U-17053.
It is only through the Intervention of John A. Holeton, Pauline Holeton, Richard Meltzer, Karen Spranger, Linda Kurtz, Cynthia Edwards, Sharon Schmidt, and Dominic and Lillian Cusumano’s, that having a Choice (6) regarding the AMI meter and a reduced cost for the opt-out program became a reality in Michigan.
As of May 15, 2013 the MPSC has authorized the Detroit Edison Opt-Out proposal and set the cost of $67.20 opt-out fee and $9.80 a month for service from the original cost proposed at $87 and $15 respectively.
It is with the documentation provided by the Direct Testimony of the MPSC, Detroit Edison and myself, John A. Holeton (7) and the legal protocols documented there that provides direction for others to pursue future such cases.
We must continue to hold them accountable, the corporations, agencies and organizations whom tread on our constitutional rights and our elected officials for it is they whom serve “We the People”.
The true value of the MPSC Case U-17053 Opt-Out is that the Opt-Out is testimony and proof that “We the People” can become Warriors for the People by joining together using our Constitutional 1st Amendment freedom of speech for 1, 3, or 5 minutes in cities, townships and counties and change the future of our state and our Country.

Until the concentration of electromagnetic radiation can be reduced on the main level of her home, Wendy Hoy is sleeping in the basement.
You might remember Hoy from her Autumn walk to Parliament Hill to raise awareness of sensitivities to emissions from cell phone towers.
This Spring, Industry Canada approved the activation of a tower near Hoy's home in Port Franks.
Hoy says her citizens group -- Lakeshore Coalition -- has begun work with the Lambton Shores Accessibility Committee to battle electromagnetic waves that affect a number of citizens in the region.
The Port Franks grandmother tells us a recent presentation by Coalition Secretary Laureen Maurizio to Accessibility Committee members went very well.
She claims that the impairment caused to those with Electrosensitivity (ES) can be classified as an official disability in Canada, which warrants work with her local Accessibility Committee.
After doing electromagnetic readings in her basement, Hoy says levels came in at a low 3.5 microWatts per square meter.
In some areas in her Port Franks neighbourhood, she says levels can reach much higher levels, about 600 microWatts per square meter.
Hoy says a smart meter has created the greatest issue in her residence, located just outside her home office.
She tells us she was able to have the power of the smart meter reduced by making a phone call to her hydro company.
Since walking to Ottawa from Port Franks, Hoy says she has kept in touch with members of Canadians for Safe Technology (C4ST), as well as former Microsoft Canada President Frank Clegg who advocates for safer use of technology.
Here is a video from http://www.wifiinschools.com/ which, in my opinion, is the finest and most comprehensive site in the entire nation in terms of irrefutable evidence that clearly demonstrates we are harming our children with this technology.
You be the judge. WiFi in schools, with their industrial strength routers in some cases just several feet from young children, that are hundreds of times more powerful than the ones in your home or cafe, wireless computers, and tablets in the hands of children emit microwave radiation in close proximity to the developing young bodies of our children, specifically the brain and the highly vulnerable reproductive areas. http://www.wifiinschools.com/studiesreports.html
There are no FCC RF exposure guidelines for children, only for adults and that is what the schools are standing on. Also the FCC guidelines ARE DECADES OLD and only take into consideration acute burning from microwave exposure.
The FCC guidelines COMPLETELY IGNORE NON THERMAL BIOLOGICAL INTERACTIONS AS WELL. An important distinction to note is that guidelines are not safety standards. The FCC is not a health care agency. The FCC guidelines, in my opinion, are woefully inadequate and antiquated. They astonishingly allow for exposure limits in a classroom high enough to be 1000 times the emissions of a cell tower. Is the convenience really worth the risk? Let us begin with the basics and welcome aboard.
Ladies and gentlemen, what your children are facing is a potential public health disaster in the making. Make your voice heard. They are your children. Please take the time to watch the rest of these videos and get informed: http://www.wifiinschools.com/educational-videos.html
Did you as a parent consent to this? Do you know if this is what your children arleady are or soon to be subjected to? Just say no!
