Cities Are Tracking Everyone’s Cell Phone Signal

If ever you needed a reason to turn off your cell phone, then maybe this story this will convince you.
The Palm Beach Post recently revealed how the City of Palm Beach, Florida wants to track everyone’s cellphones:
The idea is to analyze where downtown visitors go — what shops, what public places, and at what time — and how they get there. The city could use it to study traffic flow and gauge the impact of changes it makes to the streetscape, while merchants could use the data to strategize to improve business.
Big Brother and businesses are frothing at their mouths in anticipation of tracking everyone.
According to Jason Hallstrom, professor in FAU’s Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, “the research is possible because 80 percent of the U.S. population owns network-connected smartphones, whose signal can be tracked with precision.”
Leaving your cell phone on all the time, allows corporations and Big Brother to know your exactly who and where you are.
“Whether you use the device or not, it is constantly chattering,” sending out a “hello beacon which says, ‘I would like to connect to a network.’ Within that message is a unique code, etched in the silicon. It is constantly being broadcast as you walk around with that device,” Hallstrom said.
A recent Bloomberg investigation revealed that retailers are using location analytics hidden in apps to determine where you are and where you sleep.
They’re buying mobile-phone data that can track where and for how long people shop, eat, see movies — and where they go before and after. It allows them to determine personal details that paint a picture of who consumers are.
NY Times article titled “Your Apps Know Where You Were Last Night, and They’re Not Keeping It Secret,” revealed that tracking our cell phones is a $21 billion dollar industry.
Palm Beach law enforcement has also been secretly using Stingray devices to intercept everyone’s phone calls and text messages for years. So it really should not surprise anyone to find out that cities want to do the same.
What is surprising, though, is finding out that the Knight Foundation is giving Palm Beach $300,000 to track everyone.
The Knight Foundation, which claims to “believe in freedom of expression and in the values expressed in the First Amendment,” apparently does not think that tracking everyone’s cell phones is un-American.
But tracking everyone’s cell phone signal, apparently fits right into the Knight Foundation’s goal of “capitalizing on communities.”
Unfortunately, spying on everyone’s cell phone signal is not limited to Florida.
Cities like Loveland, Colorado, Seattle, Washington and Mesa, Arizona have been tracking people’s cellphones for years. Two years ago, Miami’s Department of Public Works considered purchasing WiFi readers and surveillance cameras to capture speeders.
Big Brother’s appetite for spying on everyone is now focused on our children.

Sheriffs encourage parents to spy on their kid’s social media

The Martin County Sheriff’s office has a course designed to encourage parents to spy on their kid’s social media.
“We are here tonight to find out what your children are doing online,” said Corporal Brian Broughton with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
An article in the South Florida Sun Sentinel reveals, that Palm Beach law enforcement has been secretly using GeoFeedia to spy on kid’s social media accounts for years.
How do we know that law enforcement lies about spying on our cell phones and social media accounts?
Because law enforcement has turned obfuscation into an art form, as attorney Stephanie Lacambra of the EFF Foundation explained.
“There’s nothing that prevents law enforcement from lying,” she said. “They are protected, they can lie to your face and most people don’t know or expect that.”
This story shows that cities and law enforcement are no longer hiding their desire to spy on everyone … and that is frightening.

Canada group sues government over Google's Sidewalk Labs

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association is suing three levels of government over a Google-backed plan to build a smart neighbourhood in Toronto.
The association says the project is "invalid and needs to be reset".
It is run by the publicly funded Waterfront Toronto and Google-affiliated Sidewalk Labs.
Privacy advocates are concerned the project will increase surveillance and outsource government responsibilities to a private corporation.
"Canada is not Google's lab rat," said the association's executive director and general counsel MJ Bryant. "We can do better. Our freedom from unlawful public surveillance is worth fighting for."
The association is suing Waterfront Toronto, municipal, provincial and federal governments. Although Waterfront Toronto is funded through federal, provincial and municipal purses, it does not report to the city or the province.
Sidewalk Labs - a firm owned by Google's parent Alphabet - won a bid with Waterfront Toronto in October 2017 to develop a 12-acre patch of industrial landscape in Toronto, Ontario into a "smart city".
But the deal struck between the government-funded organisation and Sidewalk Labs has been mired in controversy and shrouded in secrecy.
In February, the Toronto Star reported that Sidewalk Labs intends to expand onto 300 adjacent acres and build a light-rail line - in exchange for a cut of development fees and property taxes.
The land is potentially worth billions, according to the Star.
Jim Balsillie, the former co-CEO of BlackBerry, called the project a "colonizing experiment in surveillance capitalism attempting to bulldoze important urban, civic and political issues.
"Of all the misguided innovation strategies Canada has launched over the past three decades, this purported smart city is not only the dumbest but also the most dangerous".
Sidewalk Labs said it would submit its development proposal this spring to Waterfront Toronto.
In response to the lawsuit, Waterfront Toronto said it is too early to be up in arms.
"At this point Waterfront Toronto has not received a plan from Sidewalk Labs, its Innovation and Funding Partner for Quayside. Therefore, none of the claims in the in the CCLA Application can be assessed yet," Waterfront Toronto said in a written statement.

14 die of cancer in seven years living next to phone mast with highest radiation levels in UK

Fourteen people living within a mile of a mobile phone mast that emits one of the highest levels of radiation in the country have died of cancer.
Four of the deaths have been in a cul-de-sac yards from the site.
A further 20 residents have developed tumours in the last seven years, although they have survived.

Those living in the shadow of the mast have begun a campaign for its removal, claiming that it has caused a cancer hotspot. The Health Protection Agency is investigating.
Worried parents are refusing to take their children to the playing fields where the mast is sited for fear of damaging their health.
The mast was erected in 1995 on a disused water tower on the High Acres estate in Kingswinford, near Dudley, West Midlands.

But campaigners claim health problems started among the 700 residents of the estate when more antennae and dishes were added in 2001.
It serves four mobile phone operators.
Experts from the communications watchdog Ofcom, who carried out tests on the mast, say it has the highest radiation level of any phone mast site surveyed in England this year.
However, the radiation was still within UK safety guidelines.
Wendy Baggott, 52, who leads a protest group against the mast, which is only 200 yards from her home, said: 'It feels like a threatening presence looming all over the neighbourhood.
'Over the last seven years there have been 14 cancer deaths in the area. Four of those happened in this road. The wellbeing of the whole community is being affected.'
The retired NHS clinical auditor, whose husband Clive has twice contracted skin cancer, said: 'It is a massive concern to us that there is a children's play area so near to it.
'Parents and grandparents around here won't let their children go there because they are terrified they could get cancer.'
One resident, Michael Morris, died from a brain tumour in 2003 aged 57.
His widow Pamela, 61, said: 'There have been so many people in the neighbourhood who have died of these cancers.
'Michael used to take the dogs for walks up there by the tower and I wonder if it might have been that.
When these masts came I think it was when he started to go downhill.'
The 14 deaths have included Betty Genner, who was killed by ovarian cancer in 2003 aged 68, and Dorothy Day, 69, who died two years later from cancer.
Six months ago another woman succumbed to a brain tumour. All of them lived within a mile of the mast.
The Government insists mobile phone masts pose no threat to the public.
But some campaigners believe the radiation from masts could be powerful enough to change the composition of body cells, making them more susceptible to cancer.
An Ofcom spokesman said: 'This is the highest level of exposure that we have recorded in England this year.
'The tower recorded levels 5,000 times below the safe exposure limit. It was not an excessive level of radiation.
'Other results around the country have been found to be around similar levels and this is well within the safety limit.'
A spokesman for the Health Protection Agency said: 'No concerns have been raised by general practitioners or other local health services in the area about any greater than expected numbers or unusual cases of any serious illnesses.
'Further contact is being made with local general practices to confirm that they do not have any specific concerns.'
But Yasmin Skelt, from pressure group Mast Sanity, which campaigns against the spread of mobile phone masts, said: "The Government keeps refusing to believe there is a problem. China and Russia realise this and keep their limits at a sixtieth of what we have got.
"We are being told nothing about the health effects, agencies that should be helping the British public are not helping. Why are we putting up with it?"

BRIEFING

  • Mobile phone masts emit almost ten times as much radiation as a microwave oven
  • Radio waves from the masts penetrate more than an inch into the body's tissues
  • The radiation emitted by a mobile phone held against the head is far more powerful than that produced by a mast
  • In 2000, a report backed by the Government concluded there was no definite link between masts and ill health
  • There are 51,000 phone masts in the UK

Very Important Interview

Curtis Bennett is an electrical engineer and a "Radio Frequency engineer."  Please check out what he has to say.  This is extremely powerful and important.

Full article here

Excerpts:

As “an energy professional recognized in British Columbia,” this “professional troubleshooter” is in high demand by other professionals — most notably insurers, medical associations, lawyers, government agencies and other corporations that sense a tsunami of lawsuits rearing off their shores.
“Can the invisible frequencies blanketing our homes, offices and communities affect humans?” they all want to know.

“Yes,” Curtis tells them. “Electrical professionals don’t blast frequencies around like this. Any B.C. Hydro lineman will tell you, you can’t change the frequencies in the grid. You can’t stimulate tissue. It’s illegal.”...

Microwaves heat food by vibrating food so violently its molecular structure shakes apart.
Just like microwaving human DNA with wireless gadgets and grids. “Now you have ‘mechanism’ where you’re doing this through electromagnetic induction,” Bennett explains.
Deluged by lawsuits and complaints, power companies are also waking to the nightmarish realization that the smart meters they’ve rushed into service are acting as antennas.

YOU ARE AN UNLICENSED ANTENNA
Water-filled humans also induce electromagnetic energy as internalized electrical current.
Bennett chokes up when he says, “You have 5 girls in school and deprived their families’ rights to reproduce. All girls have [all] their eggs at birth. You guys are irradiating the shit out of their eggs at birth.”
“What’s the genetic mutation, or the right to reproduce worth?” he continues. “9 MHz going through someone’s testicles is going to cause molecular changes.” These cyclic polarity changes whipping human cells back-and-forth–“1.8 billion times a second is not going to heat tissue? Ridiculous! How many times do you want this guy’s nuts irradiated?”...

As they become informed, civil engineers across Canada are increasingly concerned that electrosmog from a plague of wireless smart meter routers has been left out of engineering designs, regulations and discussion. All those interlocking frequencies are “irradiating infrastructure,” Bennett says. “When you get into buildings, it’s a frequency weapon. It’s induction. It’s vibration.”
This could rapidly become a Gigantic Problem because introducing harmonics into structures not designed for them is illegal under both the BC Building Code and the Canada Electrical Code.
“You can’t cause molecular earthquakes in buildings. At 1.8 billion times-a-second you’ll take the legs out from under the building,” Bennett states. Along with bridges. And nuclear power plants.
Even Toronto’s manhole covers are corroding much faster than engineering specs anticipated under a growing onslaught of continuous microwave radiation.
Does anyone seriously think that human organs are immune to energies that so speedily rot iron?

What happens, he asks, when occupancy permits are withdrawn from buildings sprouting dozens of smart meters, as well cellular antenna farms on their roofs?
What is the future of mortgages and insurance for homes compromised by smart meter radiation?
“We work for risk management,” Bennett also says of his profession. “At the end of the day it’s dollars and cents. The frequencies are illegal. You can’t do this. Loss of bees, buildings, infrastructure…” power companies are “going to be bankrupt.”

The peer reviewed science is called electromagnetic induction which is the same mechanism BC Hydro uses for creating electricity...
While Health Canada’s administration and others will be held accountable for their criminal negligence, BC does not want the liability or health costs associated with causing neurological challenges or affecting pollinators.

As an adviser to B.C. municipalities and the Canadian Forces, as well as an expert witness in an ongoing Oregon lawsuit involving smart meters, Curtis Bennett carries clout. And he is not alone in his desire to see B.C.’s Premier and Energy Minister brought to justice.
“These guys need to be arrested and charged with criminal negligence,” he says, mixing genders. “Is it okay for them to hurt somebody’s children? One-hundred percent, no. Does their stupidity and greed absolve them? No.”

When it comes to the effects of pervasive wireless pollution, doctors are asking Curtis Bennett,”What’s going to happen?”
“Extinction,” this EMF expert says succinctly. “This is the biggest threat to mankind.”

Speaking for many, Dr. Vini Khurana, renowned Associate Professor of Neurosurgery in Australia, urges everyone to stop using cell phones immediately.
Smart meters operate on cell phone frequencies. And studies have confirmed that low power levels are extremely dangerous because they more closely mimic — and confuse – the human body’s intercellular communications.

When it comes to a smart meter’s jagged 2.4 billion hertz pulses overpowering 8 hertz human brains, Bennett predicts that if it is allowed to go ahead, the smart grid will cause “catastrophic electrical failure of the human grid globally.”
Before that happens, we could be looking at entire nations of electromagnetically lobotomised zombies. And before that, an electro-hypersensitivity epidemic could unleash a firestorm of lawsuits against MDs alleging malpractice.
“All medical diagnosis are inaccurate that don’t take into account the electromagnetic environment — misdiagnosis across the board.” Bennett sighs. “What a mess. And that’s the reason we’re not supposed to do it. As professional electrical engineers, we wouldn’t send children to school and electromagnetic induce them and cause neurological problems and then test and grade them — ‘You appear to be a little slow here. Better take this drug.’”

Curtis Bennett’s advice for Hornby Islanders and anyone else facing smart meter-wielding invaders is simple: “Don’t let them come on your property. Recklessly endangering you — that’s a criminal matter. They have no right to be on your property to install and maintain illegal equipment.”
Addressing our trustees, Bennett says that in all their spin-doctoring, BC Hydro left out the mass effects of routers buzzing in a human-inductive grid. “How are you supposed to administer with this info left out? These things are very dangerous. You need to pay attention.”
Heads in the sand leave vulnerable butts to be kicked. Saying “I doubt it” to the weight of scientific evidence, while passing on BC Hydro propaganda unquestioned does not exempt an administrator from criminal negligence, Curtis Bennett adds.
“Authorities are investigating,” he warns. “What’s coming down the road you can’t even imagine. There’s going to be some real hell coming to pay for this.”

Take Action! Send your legislators this message urging them to oppose 5G and wireless expansion

Dear Legislator,
(Their system will locate the state and federal legislators for your address
I am a constituent in your district and want you to oppose and prohibit the expansion of wireless radiation and 5G millimeter wave technology.

Thousands of peer reviewed studies (see Electromagnetic Radiation: Adverse Biological Effects - 1,600 Accredited Scientific Studies) have documented the harmful impacts of wireless radiation on public health and nature.  Some health effects include neurological and cognitive impairment, asthma, heart problems, sleep problems, learning and memory disorders, ringing in ears, headaches, fatigue, increased cancer risk and more.

Since wireless radiation is known to be a carcinogen, now is the time to reduce our exposure by phasing out wireless and progressing forward to the future of fiber optics and wired internet connections that are faster, more reliable, secure and safe for people and nature. Current infrastructure generating EMF radiation is subjecting the public, wildlife, and the environment to 24 / 7 / 365 long term involuntary exposure to harmful emissions that are damaging to all biological life.
Looking forward to your quick response and strong support for safe technology.

Thank you,

CELL TOWER STUDY - LONG-TERM EXPOSURE TO MICROWAVE RADIATION PROVOKES CANCER GROWTH: EVIDENCES FROM RADARS AND MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

"Medical researchers with Masaryk University of Czech Republic and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 2011: Populations living near cell towers, in one year of operation, had 4.15 times more cases of cancer in the cell tower area than in the rest of the city. Relative cancer rates for females were 10.5 times higher close to the station area, 0.6 for control area and 1.0 for the whole town....With the very significant increase in cancer in a one year period, the authors of the study suggested that microwave could provoke latent cases of cancer in inhabitants of the area nearby the cell tower."

Summary. In this review we discuss alarming epidemiological and experimental data on possible carcinogenic effects of long term exposure to low intensity microwave (MW) radiation. Recently, a number of reports revealed that under certain conditions the irradiation by low intensity MW can substantially induce cancer progression in humans and in animal models. The carcinogenic effect of MW irradiation is typically manifested after long term (up to 10 years and more) exposure. Nevertheless, even a year of operation of a powerful base transmitting station for mobile communication reportedly resulted in a dramatic increase of cancer incidence among population living nearby. In addition, model studies in rodents unveiled a significant increase in carcinogenesis after 17-24 months of MW exposure both in tumor-prone and intact animals. To that, such metabolic changes, as overproduction of reactive oxygen species, 8‑hydroxi-2-deoxyguanosine formation, or ornithine decarboxylase activation under exposure to low intensity MW confirm a stress impact of this factor on living cells. We also address the issue of standards for assessment of biological effects of irradiation. It is now becoming increasingly evident that assessment of biological effects of non-ionizing radiation based on physical (thermal) approach used in recommendations of current regulatory bodies, including the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) Guidelines, requires urgent reevaluation. We conclude that recent data strongly point to the need for re-elaboration of the current safety limits for non-ionizing radiation using recently obtained knowledge. We also emphasize that the everyday exposure of both occupational and general public to MW radiation should be regulated based on a precautionary principles which imply maximum restriction of excessive exposure.
