Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports on a new study on cell phone radiation side effects, which found a link between cell phone radiation exposure by pregnant mice and behavioral problems in their offspring.

Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing clients injured by cell phone radiation side effects, reports on a March 15, 2012 study, which found that exposure to cell phone radiation during pregnancy leads to hyperactivity and other behavioral problems in the offspring of pregnant mice.* Dr. Hugh Taylor and a team of researchers from the Yale School of Medicine conducted the study, which was published in Scientific Reports. The researchers exposed one group of pregnant mice to cell phone radiation from an active phone placed above the cage, and kept a control group of pregnant mice under the same conditions with the phone deactivated. They found that the offspring of the pregnant mice exposed to radiation developed behavior problems, which increased with the duration of cell phone radiation exposure. Specifically, the offspring of mice exposed to radiation tended to be more hyperactive with reduced memory capacity.

Cell Phone Radiation Side Effects In Mice May Have Impact On Humans

"This is the first experimental evidence that fetal exposure to radiofrequency radiation from cellular telephones does in fact affect adult behavior," Dr. Taylor told Eyewitness News.** In addition, Dr. Taylor believes the behavioral changes in the mice may be correlated to the increase of behavioral disorders in human children:
"We have shown that behavioral problems in mice that resemble ADHD are caused by cell phone exposure in the womb. The rise in behavioral disorders in human children may be in part due to fetal cellular telephone irradiation exposure." Although more research is needed to determine whether there are similar cell phone radiation side effects in humans, the researchers suggest caution. Dr. Taylor characterized the results to Yale News as a "warning that we should be careful and investigate it further."***
