Charyl Zehfus: Be wary — wireless exposure probably causes cancer

Dear Editor: Will we unwittingly give the gift of cancer this Christmas? We may want to think twice about giving (or using) more wireless, since new science is said to now make radiofrequency exposure a PROBABLE, not just a possible, carcinogen. Dr. Anthony Miller, scientific expert in cancer epidemiology and radiation, was senior scientist for the International Agency for Research on Cancer, which set the 2B "possible" classification, but now says additional recent studies means probable cancer from radiofrequency field exposures. 

Miller says our wireless merrymaking spreads the cancer risk to others. "When you deliver a (probable) carcinogen over a wide area ... you expose numerous people and ... increase risks to a small proportion, but you can't identify who they are. That doesn't mean there's no harm. And as you increase the dosage ... in our environment, you will in fact increase the hazard."

Prudent avoidance of probable carcinogens is not prudish, but progressive. We can voluntarily stop spreading random acts of blindness: People we touch with our wireless fields today will not know whom to "thank" later for their cancer. Consumers should choose to purchase/use wired/fiber/cable products and services for ethical and practical reasons. Cancer is a cruel, expensive package to deliver to random people's doorsteps.
